EY and MARA Partner to Develop Future-Ready Accounting Talent

    • Collaboration strengthens accounting education and industry readiness
    • Students gain access to internships, career talks, and AI-focused training
    • Program aims to develop ethical, tech-savvy, and globally competitive professionals

Ernst & Young PLT (EY) and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance accounting education and talent development for Bumiputera students in Malaysia. The partnership focuses on equipping students with practical skills, industry exposure, and emerging capabilities such as artificial intelligence (AI) in accounting.

Under the agreement, EY and MARA will collaborate in four key areas like creating clear pathways for DIA students to access EY internships and graduate programs through the Centralized Audit Delivery Team (CADeT) and Centralized Tax Delivery (CTAx) Team; conducting career talks, guest lectures, office visits, and capability-building sessions; sharing academic-industry knowledge, aligning curriculum with evolving industry practices including AI applications; and identifying top-performing students for potential early career profiling at EY.

Ahmad Qadri, Malaysia Financial Services Leader at EY, emphasized the importance of industry-education collaboration. “This partnership allows students to gain practical experience, develop AI-related capabilities, and build a professional mindset needed in today’s dynamic business environment”, he said.

The initiative is expected to create a sustainable pipeline of future-ready accounting professionals, bridging education and industry while preparing students for careers that require both technical expertise and ethical decision-making in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.
