GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance app, has teamed up with ten universities for its financial literacy initiative, ‘The GMindset: Gear Up Your Financial Game.’ This program is designed to equip students with essential personal finance skills and habits. Seven universities have already confirmed participation, including the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Far Eastern University (FEU), Adamson University, University of the Philippines Diliman and Clark, Ateneo de Manila University, and Centro Escolar University (CEU). Three more schools are expected to join in the coming months.
The bootcamp aims to teach students how to manage money early in life, focusing on goal setting, savings, investment basics, and financial discipline. The first two sessions, held at PUP and FEU, drew nearly 500 student participants.
Students learned practical strategies for building financial security, including how to create savings plans, understand investment psychology, and use digital tools for smarter money management. The sessions were made more interactive with on-site GCash Visa Card printing, career booths, and assistance with signing up for GSave and GInvest. GSave lets users open savings accounts with partner banks directly through the GCash app, while GInvest offers access to investment products.

The bootcamp will continue with upcoming sessions at Adamson (Sept 9), UP Clark (Sept 19), Ateneo (Sept 20), and CEU Manila (Sept 24). The program reflects GCash’s broader mission to democratize financial access and foster smarter financial habits among young Filipinos.
