Georgetown University has launched its Master’s in International Business and Policy program in Dubai, welcoming its first batch of students. The program is a collaboration between Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business and School of Foreign Service, aimed at preparing leaders to tackle global business challenges while shaping policy. Classes will take place at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Academy, with additional modules in Washington, D.C., and Jakarta.
The launch event brought together government officials, business leaders, diplomats, and Georgetown alumni. Leaders from both schools highlighted the program’s goal to blend business skills with policy insights, positioning Dubai as a growing education and business center. Alya AlZarouni, COO of DIFC Authority, praised the partnership for boosting Dubai’s role as a global business hub, while the U.S. Consul General emphasized the strong educational ties between the US and UAE.
A panel of alumni shared how the program exceeded expectations by mixing academic theory with practical experience. They noted the supportive community, real world exposure to global CEOs, and immediate application of skills at work. The program’s co-directors outlined its unique focus on integrating business with policy, aiming to develop leaders who can drive economic growth across the MENASA region.
