IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi has officially opened admissions for the second batch of students to its MTech in Energy Transition and Sustainability and Ph.D. in Energy and Sustainability programs. Applications are invited online, with the academic semester to start in August 2025 for the 2025-26 academic year.
Having recently launched the M.Tech program in January 2024 and the Ph.D. program in January 2025, Abu Dhabi campus further solidifies itself as a regional center for cutting-edge engineering, technology, and research particularly in the backdrop of the energy transition of the world.
The M.Tech program provides a rigorous two-year, on-campus curriculum suitable for recent graduates and working professionals alike. Using a multidisciplinary and systems-based perspective, the program explores major topics such as renewable energy technologies, energy storage, sustainable transportation, and the financial aspects of decarbonization with the goal of developing the next generation of sustainability leaders.
Simultaneously, the Ph.D. program is concerned with solving the most urgent challenges facing the energy industry, such as increasing energy efficiency, minimizing environmental footprint, maintaining grid stability, and facilitating the use of clean energy technologies. Doctoral researchers will be contributing to a broad range of critical issues pertaining to the global drive towards NetZero objectives.
The institute offers merit-based scholarships and and tuition waivers to Ph.D and M. Tech. applicants. Scholarship applicants need to go through a competitive selection process, on the basis of academic performance, marks in qualifying examinations (wherever applicable), experience, and interviews.
