Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has announced three new academic programmes for the 2025-26 academic year, expanding its offerings under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The new courses include BA (Hons) in German Studies, BA (Hons) in Japanese Studies, and an Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling.

The two BA (Hons) programmes are part of the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) and aim to prepare students for careers in education, diplomacy, translation, interpretation, research, and international business. These courses combine language learning with cultural studies and real world applications, opening doors to global opportunities.

The Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling, approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), trains students to become certified professionals in child mental health. Graduates will be eligible to work in schools, hospitals, NGOs, and healthcare sectors, addressing the increasing demand for mental health professionals in India.

These new additions reflect Jamia’s commitment to providing relevant and future ready education. The focus on foreign language and counselling courses aims to meet rising national and global needs in communication, cultural understanding, and mental health.
