Jollibee and DepEd Team Up to Train Senior High Students for Restaurant Careers

    • Jollibee and DepEd to co-develop a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) curriculum for senior high students.
    • The program will combine classroom learning with hands on training in Jollibee stores.
    • Jollibee Group to build 50 new classrooms by 2028 as part of its 50th anniversary.

Jollibee Foods Corporation has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) to launch a specialized Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) curriculum for senior high school students under the Technical Vocational Livelihood track. The initiative aims to prepare students for real world employment in the fast growing food service sector.

The program will blend classroom instruction with on the job training across Jollibee Group brands. Students will gain skills in restaurant operations, food preparation, customer service, business communication, and safety and sanitation, all designed to meet industry standards and bridge the gap between school and work.

DepEd Secretary, Sonny Angara praised the collaboration, calling it a strong example of public private partnership that brings relevant, practical skills into education. “This gives our learners the skills and resilience to thrive in a rapidly changing job market”, he said.

In addition to the curriculum, Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF) will build 50 classrooms across the Philippines by 2028, starting with six classrooms in Mindoro, Cebu, and Sarangani in 2026. This construction project is part of the company's 50th anniversary celebration and JGF’s 20th year.
