Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and Indonesia’s Politeknik Perkapalan Negeri Surabaya (PPNS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in education, research, and skill development. The partnership aims to improve student employability through job-ready learning aligned with modern engineering needs.
The MoU was signed at KUET’s Vice-Chancellor’s office. Eng. Md Anisur Rahman Bhuiyan, Registrar of KUET, signed for the university, while Muhammad Anis Mustaghfirin represented PPNS. KUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Maksud Helali attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Under the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on joint research projects, academic exchanges, and the sharing of best practices. The focus will be on enhancing student competencies in science and engineering through practical exposure and applied learning.

Senior faculty members from KUET, including the Dean of Mechanical Engineering and senior professors, were present at the event, highlighting the academic value of the partnership.
University leaders said the MoU will open new opportunities in higher education, strengthen research outcomes, and deepen long-term collaboration between Bangladesh and Indonesia in technical and engineering education.
