A job fair organized in the IT Park in Dushanbe became one more significant action for strengthening the domestic labour market of Tajikistan: over 300 residents got jobs in the course of the job fair. Organized within the events to celebrate the International Migrant Day, the job fair was an initiative of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan, which gathered together 75 enterprises and organizations offering 4,810 job openings in a wide range of industries.

According to the Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment Ms. Soleha Kholmahmadzoda, the new initiative aimed to provide sustainable employment within the country, especially for migrant workers and returnees, along with introducing new career prospects aligned with changing national economic needs. She underlined that increasing access to quality jobs at home is an essential aspect of labor migration's scale reduction and long-term economic stability. One of the event's main highlights was the ability of job seekers to interact directly with the employers. Consequently, participants in this event managed to get very specific information on working conditions, salary structures, working hours, social benefits, and how their careers would be looked after in the long term. In addition to recruitment, free legal consultations concerning safe migration practices, lawful employment, and government-supported labor services were also provided by specialists to help participants make informed decisions about their careers.

It also represented a professional development platform, with presentations concerning courses of vocational training, retraining programs, and employment support projects. Within the context of these sessions, well-defined routes were mentioned regarding how job seekers could enhance their skills, become relevant within the current labor market context, and increase employability within high-demand professions.

To continue with the engaging approach and the development of skills, several competitions were organized during the event aimed at enhancing motivation and showing practical competencies. An official in MoLMEP characterised the fair as an important initiative because, along with promoting employment, professional trainings, workforce development, it also underpins the bigger agenda of reduction of unemployment. Combining recruitment, skills development, and legal awareness into one event, the job fair showed that Tajikistan is committed to bringing inclusive and sustainable employment to citizens.
