RePlay Launches First Summit to Promote Play in Early Learning

    • The RePlay Summit will take place on November 15 at Museo Pambata, celebrating purposeful play in line with World Children’s Month.
    • The event will feature talks, forums, and interactive play zones to promote creativity, resilience, and empathy in children.
    • She leads a lineup of educators and play advocates including Nina Lim-Yuson, Laila Pornel-Espital, Inah Salazar, and Bambi Manosa-Tanjutco.

RePlay, a community of thought leaders and experts in the field of play-based learning, invites teachers, parents, and play advocates to participate in the first-ever RePlay Summit, a one-day journey of discovery into the value of purposeful play for early childhood development. It will happen on November 15 at Museo Pambata, just in time for World Children's Month.

Themed 'Pledge to Play for a Better Tomorrow', the RePlay Summit promises to host illuminating talks, immersive play areas, enriching forums, and many more that altogether aim to equip attendees with the tools they need to help raise creative, resilient, and empathetic children.

It will be a space to understand and learn, but also to connect with a community who share the same bond of cultivating growth through curiosity, creativity, and connection. The summit sets the stage for an incredible lineup of speakers led by keynote speaker De La Salle University Professor and Educational Consultant Maricar Gustilo-De Ocampo, who will discuss 'The Past, Present and Future of Play'.

She will be joined by Nina Lim-Yuson, founder of Museo Pambata, who will share her kindness story, and Laila Pornel-Espital, founder of The Weekend Wild Child, who will discuss the beauty of risky and outdoor play. Inah Salazar, executive director of Love Education Philippines will also share her knowledge about the connection between children and the natural world.

The afternoon session features 'The Art of Building a Kinder World', a talk by Bambi Mañosa-Tanjutco, former president of Museo Pambata. There will also be the forum 'Play Landscapes: A Forum on Play Through Diverse Lenses'. This will highlight various approaches to learning through play-from the Reggio Emilia method, the playful power of music to the importance of inclusive and mindful play.

Complementing the intellectually nourishing sessions are interactive activities that will make the summit themes come alive. There will be engagement stations with invitations to play, games that are both fun and educational, and full access to the exhibits at Museo Pambata.

At RePlay, we believe that speaking the children's language is the best way to reach and teach them. We listen and observe their cues, and are always guided by our core values and methods: mindfulness, harmony, sustainability, connection, and kindness. "By championing this at the RePlay summit, we hope to help create educational experiences that are collaborative, creative, and child-centric", shares Teacher Phi Anh, founder of RePlay and a kindness coach, as she encourages more play advocates to join the summit.
