Saudi Program Uses Play-Based Learning to Build Children's Core Skills

    • New program boosts children’s cognitive and creative abilities
    • Uses play-based learning with puzzles, activities, and interactive games
    • Aims to improve thinking skills, problem-solving, and overall learning speed

The King Salman Science Oasis has launched a new play-based learning program designed to strengthen children’s essential skills. The initiative is part of the “Math, the Language of Science” festival and aims to make learning more engaging through fun, interactive methods.

Developed in partnership with the Makkah region’s General Directorate of Education and Umm Al-Qura University, the program uses educational games, mental challenges, and activity-based modules to support skill development among young learners. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the program will run until November 30.

The initiative focuses on enhancing key abilities, including memory, concentration, quick thinking, and creativity. Through structured activities, children learn to analyze problems, test solutions, and build systematic thinking skills. The program also supports motor coordination, self-awareness, and confidence-building skills, which are essential for both academic growth and everyday life.

By blending fun with learning, the program encourages children to explore ideas more deeply and think independently. It also provides a supportive environment that motivates them to develop imagination and discover innovative solutions.
