As part of India's vision to emerge as a world center for higher learning, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has welcomed more than 200 foreign students to its campuses at Ramapuram and Tiruchirappalli for the academic year 2025. The students, along with their families, have come from nations such as Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, choosing SRMIST because of its curricula and global exposure.

In order to celebrate the incoming new international batch, SRMIST organized a heritage trip to make students familiar with India's cultural environment. The effort was made for students to get accustomed to local customs and culture and feel a sense of belonging and community at the early stages of their study.

Talking about this initiative, Kathiravan Kannan, Director, SRM Group of Institutions, said, "We are excited to have students from all over Asia and the Middle East on our campuses. These young minds have opted for SRMIST as the stepping stone to the future. Our aim is not only to impart quality education but also to develop a caring and inclusive culture where students belonging to diverse cultures can grow".
