Agee Docayso, a Diploma student from the TESDA- Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education, or CSITE, proudly represents the Philippines in the Cooking skill category at the WorldSkills Asia Taipei 2025. This year, the Philippine delegation is competing in five skill areas, namely: Cooking, Electrical Installations, Graphic Design Technology, Mechatronics, and Refrigeration and Air-conditioning.
Docayso's participation follows his recent Gold Medal win at the ASEAN Skills Competition in Manila, which cemented his status among the region's best young professionals in technical and vocational education.
The event started with a formal Gala Night, graced by His Excellency Lai Ching-Te, President of Taiwan, who welcomed the various delegations from across Asia and set the tone for a week of world-class competition. In the Cooking category, Docayso faces strong contenders from Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Korea, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, and India.
"The WorldSkills stage is something I never imagined myself stepping onto", Docayso shared. "I carry not only the Philippine flag but also the heart of every Cordilleran who believes in the value of hard work, discipline, and craftsmanship. I am here to show that our region can stand with the best in Asia".
Providing technical guidance is Chef Mary Kristine Iris Pasion, serving as Expert, who has been ensuring that Docayso meets the rigorous standards of the international competition.

The CSITE leadership headed by Executive Director Daisy C. Bungallon and Main Campus Vocational School Administrator Melita D. Pinic embarked on a trip to Taipei along with the WorldSkills national officials in order to give full support to CSITE and the whole Philippine delegation, emphasizing the institution's and region's commitment to skills development and global competitiveness.
Competitions are running from November 27 to 29, and the Philippine team is determined to show the nation's commitment to quality training and the expertise of its young professionals. The Closing Ceremony will be on November 30, recognizing outstanding performances and celebrating Asia's shared commitment to advancing excellence in skills.
