- UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges graduates to follow official procedures for attesting high school certificates before studying abroad
- Attestation varies by curriculum and may involve ADEK, Ministry of Education, or UAE embassies in destination countries
- Digital platforms like TAMM and the Ministry’s smart app aim to make the process faster, easier, and more convenient for students
With the start of the new academic year nearing and high school graduates set to join universities, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs released an advisory asking students to get familiar with the official procedures for attesting their academic certificates. This, the ministry added, is a requirement that must be fulfilled so that academic documents are acceptable both within the UAE and the country the student is headed to, especially for students who seek further education overseas.
Through a public message released on its official social media channels, the ministry invited graduates to 'attest your high school certificate more easily, quickly, and efficiently' by going through the specified procedures as per the relevant school curriculum. The ministry emphasized that attestation could involve coordination with several organizations, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs itself, the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), and the UAE Ministry of Education.
For graduates of schools that are under ADEK in Abu Dhabi, even those who have acquired attested study academic transcripts and 'To Whom It May Concern' letters affirming completion of studies, authentication can be done through the Abu Dhabi Government Services platform, TAMM. Through this platform, the process is facilitated, allowing students to submit requests electronically without unnecessary waiting times.

In the meantime, students who have graduated from Ministry of Education schools or private schools teaching non-ministerial curricula may apply for the attestation of their general education certificates via the official website of the Ministry of Education or its smart app. These digital platforms are meant to render the process easier and more convenient so that students may place orders at their convenience.
Apart from the school or curriculum, the ministry emphasized that graduates who plan to study abroad are also required to obtain authentication from the UAE embassy in the country of destination. This is an important step to guarantee the legitimacy of their academic documents based on local laws abroad. By following these rules, students can prevent last-minute hassles and make sure that their academic qualifications are fully recognized for university entry and other official purposes. The advisory of the ministry is part of a larger effort to make crucial administrative processes more streamlined, efficient, and user-friendly for UAE students as they pursue their academic careers overseas.
