On 8 August,
Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training unveiled the establishment of six national networks of excellent training and talent centers in four critical Industry 4.0 technology areas. The project is intended to promote high-quality education, research, and innovation through national and international cooperation.
The networks are:
AI & Semiconductors (Southern Region) – spearheaded by the
University of Technology, Vietnam National University–Ho Chi Minh City.
AI & Semiconductors (Central Region) – University of Technology, University of Da Nang (leadership).
Agricultural Biotechnology (Southern Region) – Can Tho University (leadership).
Agricultural Biotechnology (Central Region) – Hue University (leadership).
Renewable Energy & Hydrogen Energy – HCM City University of Technology and Education (leadership).
Educational Technology – HCM City Open University (leadership).
Each network brings together universities, research centers, and national and international firms to work together in training, research, and technology transfer. Partners will exchange curricula, enhance professorial expertise, grant access to labs, and implement science and technology projects together.
Through collaborative programs and industry
university research initiatives, students and researchers will acquire state-of-the-art knowledge, build cross-disciplinary competencies, and tackle problems of the real world. This model represents a transition from individual institutional development to collaborative, resource-sharing partnerships, building close university business relationships in 4.0 technology areas.
Deputy Education and Training Minister Nguyen Van Phuc reiterated that universities have two strategic missions roviding human resources competitive at a global scale and pushing scientific research, technology development, and innovation so research outcomes serve industry and do not stay theoretical.
