Vietnamese Student Shines as Symbol of CUHK's International Success

  • The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) continues to attract top talent from Vietnam, as demonstrated by Ryan Le Minh Khue, a Year 3 student in the Integrated Bachelor of Business Administration (IBBAC) Programme.

Coming from the prestigious Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted in Hanoi, Ryan represents a growing trend of Vietnamese students choosing Hong Kong for their tertiary education. His choice to pursue studies at CUHK was prompted by the academic excellence of the university and the generous government, university, and departmental scholarship schemes available.

"When I was searching for my possibilities, CUHK's IBBAC programme caught my eye due to its flexible framework with nine concentrations", Ryan says. "It enabled me to venture into various fields of business before specialising, which was precisely what I required". The programme's well-rounded curriculum has facilitated Ryan to find out what he is interested in while having a solid grounding in business studies. The properly planned curriculum mixes theoretical foundation with practical solutions, equipping the students to tackle real-world issues in the business world.

    Leadership and Professional Development

Aside from studies, Ryan has engaged actively in campus life through a range of leadership positions. As Student Ambassador, he promotes CUHK actively to potential Vietnamese students and communicates his experiences to the expanding Vietnamese population. His role as Master of Ceremonies for Vietnam Consulate General events further honed his public speaking ability as well as cultural immersion. Through CUHK's corporate network, Ryan has obtained coveted internships at KPMG Vietnam and Guotai Junan Securities Corporation, learning first-hand about the finance sector and establishing a strong professional network.

    Emerging Vietnamese Community

The Vietnamese student population at CUHK has increased enormously, from only two students from Ryan's school to about twenty today. "CUHK provides top class education quality in a nurturing environment", says Ryan. "Hong Kong's well-planned curriculum, together with its status as a world financial center and proximity to Vietnam, make it an ever more popular option for Vietnamese students".

The university's green campus culture and extensive support system have also enabled international students to acclimatize perfectly to life in Hong Kong. Ryan will continue his studies for a master's degree in Finance at CUHK upon graduation, capitalising on the excellent foundation he has laid. His journey underscores CUHK's dedication to fostering international talent and equipping students for global career success through academic and professional industry exposure. As a rising leader in his field, Ryan's success story is an inspiration for potential Vietnamese students opting for CUHK as their higher learning destination.
