Wah Fu Announces Corporate Name Change to Education & Technology

  • Wah Fu Education Group Limited has completed a corporate name change and is now officially known as Wah Fu Education & Technology Group Limited. The company’s shares will continue to trade on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the unchanged ticker symbol “WAFU.”

The rename, announced on 8 October 2026, is designed to better reflect the company’s evolving strategy. While education remains its core foundation, the new name highlights the independent growth and autonomous development of its technology segment. Management said the change signals a strategic upgrade toward building a technology-driven education ecosystem.

Wah Fu Education & Technology Group Limited will continue to strengthen its established academic and vocational education businesses. At the same time, it will accelerate the independent development of its technology arm, expanding digital learning platforms, smart education solutions and technology-enabled education services.

Dr Yang Yu, Chief Executive Officer of the newly renamed company, said the updated identity better matches the firm’s vision and future direction. “Education is our foundation and core underpinning. The newly-added ‘Technology’ not only signifies in-depth application of cutting-edge technologies to serve our core education business, but also marks that our technology segment has entered a phase of independent development,” he stated.

“We are committed to deploying cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence application technologies and digital platforms across the full education value chain. Taking this as a new starting point, we will further advance mutual integration between education and technology, and build a smart education service platform featuring wider scenario coverage and stronger service capacity.”

Founded in 1999, the company has long focused on delivering diversified and customised education solutions for students, educational institutions and higher-education establishments in China. It has developed particular strength in higher-level self-taught higher education examinations, continuing-education informatisation and non-degree training programmes.

By applying information technologies including artificial intelligence and big data, Wah Fu has created new models of smart education offerings. Over the years it has grown into a well-recognised brand in China’s adult-oriented distance-education sector.

The name change does not alter the company’s listing status or ticker. Investors will continue to find the stock under the familiar “WAFU” symbol on Nasdaq. The company said the rebranding is part of an ongoing transformation that aims to keep education at the centre while giving its technology capabilities greater independence and visibility.

In recent years, education companies across Asia have increasingly integrated digital tools, artificial intelligence and data analytics into their offerings. Wah Fu’s move aligns with this broader industry trend, positioning the firm to expand both its traditional education services and its technology-driven solutions under a single, clearer corporate identity.

The company continues to serve learners seeking flexible pathways in adult and continuing education, while investing in platforms that can support a wider range of digital and smart learning experiences. Management indicated that the new name will help communicate this dual focus more clearly to students, partners, institutions and the capital markets.

As Wah Fu Education & Technology Group Limited moves forward under its updated identity, it plans to deepen the application of artificial intelligence and digital platforms across the education value chain. The goal, according to the CEO, is to create a more comprehensive smart education service platform with broader scenario coverage and stronger service capacity.

The announcement was released through GlobeNewswire and carries the standard safe harbour statement regarding forward-looking comments. Investors are advised to review the company’s filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for additional information and risk factors.
