    • Canva, in partnership with DepEd, has launched free access to Canva for Education for all K–12 public school teachers, students, and staff in the Philippines.
    • The platform offers curriculum-aligned templates, real-time collaboration, and integration with tools like Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams.
    • The initiative supports digital inclusion and prepares students with critical visual communication skills for the future workforce.

In a major push to empower digital learning and creativity in classrooms, Canva has officially launched the nationwide rollout of Canva for Education across all public schools in the Philippines. This initiative, in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), provides free access to Canva’s powerful design and communication tools for all K–12 teachers, students, and staff with valid DepEd email addresses.

The full rollout follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Canva and DepEd in October 2024 and marks a significant milestone in Canva’s mission to democratize design and strengthen global education. Thousands of public school educators have already started integrating Canva’s features into their teaching, enabling a more creative, collaborative, and digitally empowered learning experience.

“Our mission at Canva has always been to democratize design and empower everyone to communicate their ideas visually”, said Maisie Littaua, Country Manager of Canva Philippines. “With this full rollout, we’re equipping Filipino educators and learners with powerful tools to make learning more engaging, collaborative, and effective while preparing them for the world ahead".

Canva for Education is designed specifically for K–12 learning environments. It includes a vast library of curriculum-aligned templates for presentations, lesson plans, infographics, and videos. The platform also supports real-time collaboration, scheduling features, and integrates smoothly with platforms like Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams. Built-in safety features ensure a secure and age-appropriate digital experience.

“This initiative marks a key step in Canva’s broader commitment to advancing education and digital inclusion across Southeast Asia”, said Yani Hornilla-Donato, Regional Lead for Southeast Asia at Canva. “By starting with the Philippines, we’re taking a meaningful step toward equipping the next generation with intuitive, inclusive, and accessible visual communication tools”.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara praised the partnership, calling it an example of the kind of innovation the Marcos administration supports. “Filipino teachers have always been heroes in their own right. Give them Canva, and now they’ve got superpowers,” he said. “This is tech that empowers, tools that uplift, and education that prepares our people for the future”.

With Canva for Education now freely available, public school communities across the country are poised to enter a new era of digital learning and creative empowerment.
