- Kajima’s GEAR and Glodon International sign MoU to advance digital construction education and vocational training in Singapore
- Partnership includes virtual simulations, AR-based modular construction platforms, and showcases like Smart Tiling Robot and CubiCost 5D BIM solution
- Initiative aims to equip future construction professionals with hands-on digital expertise and bridge technology with practical application
Kajima's GEAR (The GEAR) and Glodon International (Glodon) have concluded a strategic alliance by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a view to promoting education and vocational training in digital construction. The signing ceremony was held at The GEAR building, where Luke Wu, Managing Director of The GEAR, and Wataru Matsumoto, Vice President of Glodon Company Limited, signed on behalf of their respective organizations. This partnership aims to promote the use of smart technologies within the built environment as well as develop the construction professionals of the future.
According to the MoU, the two partners will collaborate in pushing digital revolution and high-tech learning with Glodon's innovative technologies. Programs involve virtual simulations for construction robots, digital instructional applications, knowledge exchange programs, and seminars featuring Glodon's CubiCost 5D BIM digital cost solution.
A co-branded show at The GEAR building will showcase innovative equipment like the Smart Tiling Robot, which showcases automated tiling to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety, and the Prefabricated Construction AR Education Platform, an interactive system with augmented reality and interactive models to visualize modular construction processes.

"This MoU is not merely a business deal it signifies our devotion to reshaping the construction sector", noted Matsumoto, highlighting the significance of Glodon's presence in Singapore's digital construction industry and the value of sharing knowledge. Luke Wu further noted that 'people are at the heart of digital transformation', and the collaboration will prepare students with hands-on expertise in digital construction software and bridge the gap between technology and practical uses.
The collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship between Kajima Group and Glodon. Since 2019, Kajima Overseas Asia Singapore has employed Glodon’s CubiCost solution for 5D BIM Quantity Surveying and systematic cost management, enhancing project planning and delivery. Knowledge exchanges through site visits and the Digital Building Summit in Beijing have further strengthened ties, laying the foundation for the current partnership.
