Hikvision today officially introduced WonderOS 4, the latest iteration and significant upgrade of its WonderHub interactive display, promising to revolutionize smart education through advanced AI capabilities and a cloud-integrated architecture. With the new operating system, WonderHub is positioned as nothing less than a fully intelligent classroom assistant rather than a simple teaching tool. It aims at improving both teaching efficiency and student engagement.
Derek Yang, Vice President of Hikvision International Business Center, adds that the company’s strategy will be to establish first a stable ecosystem, then make full use of AI and cloud technologies to ultimately serve educators and learners in a more effective way, by allowing human potential to be fully realized.
At the core of WonderOS 4 lie three AI-powered features that will act as teaching companions: WonderOmi voice assistant, AI Identify, and AI Notes. With WonderOmi, educators will be able to control the system hands-free: opening the Whiteboard, launching browsers, accessing teaching materials, etc., without having to take their attention away from the students. The assistant also supports turning devices on and off with your voice, answering questions, and providing speech when text-to-speech requests are made, all easy ways for teachers to manage classroom technology without distraction.
AI Identify and AI Notes further elevate classroom intelligence. AI Identify allows the teacher to interact with on-screen content directly, circling text, formulas, or images for instant explanations, practice exercises, or relevant references. Meanwhile, AI Notes transcribe lectures in real time, creating concise summaries that highlight key points and actionable items to help educators capture critical insights efficiently.

The upgraded Whiteboard 2.0 demonstrates the practical impact of these AI enhancements. It turns the traditional Whiteboard into a dynamic, interactive space where handwriting is recognized across multiple languages, shapes and gestures are interpreted, and formulas can be converted into visual graphs. Teachers can instantly generate Q&As or insert images based on handwritten content, creating lessons that are even more intuitive and engaging.
WonderOS 4 further simplifies classroom operations with a rebuilt cloud account system. Teachers can log in to any interactive flat panel display using a QR code or NFC card, instantly accessing their personalized environment, including preferences, materials, and settings. The reimagined interface anticipates teaching intent, with an intelligent sidebar and Floating Command Center consolidating shortcuts for faster, more efficient workflow.
Wonder Seminar enables wireless group collaboration between multiple displays and enhances collaboration. Teachers broadcast content to group screens, compare student work on the main display, or give host rights to student groups for interactive exercises. Behind the scenes, features such as virtual memory support and independent over-the-air updates for WonderCast, Whiteboard, and Wonder AI ensure smoother performance and faster delivery of new functionalities. With WonderOS 4, Hikvision is setting a new benchmark for AI-assisted teaching, combining intelligent software, cloud integration, and interactive tools in an adaptive classroom environment that is engaging and highly responsive to the educators' and students' needs.
