LEGO Education Brings Hands-on AI and Coding to Classrooms

    • The new LEGO Education solution introduces age-appropriate coding and AI learning across primary and secondary classrooms.
    • Students learn through collaboration and problem-solving using LEGO bricks and digital tools.
    • Curriculum-aligned lessons help teachers deliver safe, ethical and engaging AI education with ease.

LEGO Education has announced a new hands-on computer science and artificial intelligence (AI) learning solution for students from Years 1 to 10. The programme is designed to help schools build essential digital, coding and AI skills while making learning more engaging and practical. The solution will begin shipping globally from April 2026.

The announcement comes alongside findings from a new study, Building the Future: A Global Report on Computer Science & AI Education. The report shows that while teachers recognise the importance of computer science and AI for future jobs, many struggle to teach these subjects due to a lack of effective tools. Over half of teachers say current resources fail to excite students, and many feel AI education is not yet taught in a responsible or relatable way.

LEGO Education’s new solution aims to close this gap. It offers age-appropriate, curriculum-aligned lessons that combine physical LEGO bricks with digital learning. Students work in small groups, encouraging teamwork, creativity and problem-solving, skills that are critical for future careers. Lessons include both screen-free activities and digital tasks using the LEGO Education Coding Canvas.

The kits are designed for three age groups between years of 1-2, 3-6 and 7-10, making them suitable for beginners while still challenging advanced learners. Teachers receive ready-to-use materials that reduce preparation time and support confident teaching of complex topics like AI.

The programme also focuses on safe and responsible use of technology. Students learn how AI works, question its use, and understand its impact, helping them become informed digital citizens.

With this launch and the recent introduction of LEGO Education Science, the company is reshaping how technical subjects are taught. As part of this shift, the LEGO Education SPIK portfolio will be phased out.
