Assemblr EDU, a leading immersive education platform backed by Malaysian venture capital firm Ficus Capital, has joined hands with Indonesia’s Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) to drive the integration of immersive learning technologies across the country’s classrooms.
The collaboration was officially announced during the inaugural CDT Talks organized by Kemendikdasmen’s Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin), held under the theme 'The Future of Learning: Immersive Technology in Indonesian Classrooms'. The initiative marks a significant milestone in Indonesia’s digital education journey, reflecting the government’s commitment to fostering innovative, interactive, and technology-driven learning environments.
Through this partnership, Assemblr EDU will extend its premium suite of digital tools to Indonesian educators, including access to an extensive library of 3D objects, augmented reality (AR) teaching aids, interactive experience builders, and 3D editors for teachers with official @guru and @pendidik email accounts. This initiative is expected to benefit over 16 million users within Indonesia's education system, offering teachers powerful resources to design more engaging and creative lessons that bridge traditional and digital learning.
Yudistra Nugraha, Head of Pusdatin, reinforced that such a collaboration between the public and private sectors is needed to move innovation in education forward. He said such initiatives bring global technological experience closer to the classrooms while providing students with modern learning experiences.

Prof. Nunuk Suryani, Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel, also added that technology should be seen as an enabler in increasing teachers' creativity and teaching capacity-not replacing the human touch in teaching. Following the success of Assemblr EDU in Indonesia, the company is expanding into Malaysia on the back of a US$400,000 investment from Ficus Capital through its Ficus SEA Fund.
This investment represents Ficus Capital's first cross-border deal and forms part of its strategy to drive Shariah-compliant and ESG-driven innovation across Southeast Asia. The funding paved the way for Assemblr Studio Sdn Bhd, Assemblr's Malaysian subsidiary, to replicate Indonesia's immersive education model by equipping Malaysian teachers with AR learning tools.
Hasbi Asyadiq, Founder and CEO of Assemblr, said, "Assemblr was built on the idea to make education more engaging and accessible to anyone. Expanding into Malaysia is a proud milestone as we continue our journey to become a global platform that empowers educators and students through immersive learning". He added that Assemblr Studio would serve as a hub for collaboration with Malaysian educators, ministries, and educational organizations in integrating immersive technologies into national classrooms.
Ficus Capital’s support reinforces Assemblr’s mission to create scalable and impactful educational ecosystems across ASEAN. This regional expansion highlights not only the strong demand for technology-enabled learning but also shared visions of Assemblr EDU and Ficus Capital in building an increasingly inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready education landscape in Southeast Asia.
