    • Founded by singer and social advocate Insooni, Hamill School supports children from diverse backgrounds, and the partnership emphasizes mentorship, empowerment, and inclusive learning.
    • Korea University is expanding long-term support for multicultural communities, including its Leaders 120 Multicultural Talent Scholarship System, projecting ₩4 billion in aid for 120 scholars by 2030.

Korea University announced that it had signed an MOU with Hamill School, which was an important step in furthering cooperation in multicultural education and development for youths. The MOU signing ceremony was held on the afternoon of November 17 at the Main Building of the Seoul Campus.

The two institutions will work toward opening up more opportunities for students of multicultural families through joint mentoring programs, multicultural talent growth camps, and additional career exploration support. Such collaboration reflects the ongoing commitment of both schools to inclusive educational environments, giving children from different backgrounds the guidance and resources they need to flourish.

Established in 2013 by famous singer and social advocate Kim In-soon, better known under the stage name of Insooni, Hamill School is an alternative educational institution that provides academic education together with personal care for children from multi-cultural families. It was established with the purpose of helping the young generation become independent and confident citizens.

Chairman Kim said the collaboration is important because her own experiences shaped her to be a role model to students coming from similar backgrounds. She appreciated the role of Korea University students acting as mentors, as their involvement would offer practical and relatable guidance to the youth at Hamill School.

After the signing ceremony, Korea University hosted a special lecture entitled 'Leader Lecture to Change the World' at the Uncho Priority Education Center. Chairman Kim, who was invited as a keynote speaker, told the students and professors that the first step in the process of personal development begins with self-acceptance of oneself. She urged young people to believe in their self-worth and not be afraid to be themselves; this resonated deeply with the event's theme centered on multicultural empowerment and leadership.

Korea University has been expanding its support programs for multicultural communities in recent years, focusing on nurturing future generations of leaders. The university had already introduced a scholarship system aimed at multicultural family students, who need an equal opportunity for quality education. The institution will implement the Korea University Leaders 120 Multicultural Talent Scholarship System starting from 2024, an ambitious program that projects around 4 billion won in financial support to 120 scholars by 2030.

It is all part of the long-term vision at Korea University: making sure students from across all walks of life have equal opportunities toward achieving academic merit and leadership development. This vision is further cemented with the new partnership that has been created with Hamill School, creating a well-rounded support system through mentorship, experiential learning, and strategic resources. By joining forces, the two institutions aim to foster confidence, expand educational horizons, and shape a more inclusive future for multicultural youth in Korea.
