A recent event involving an educational program aimed at teaching the letters of the Quran to kids was held at the 'Little Memorizers' Academy in Pristina, Kosovo. This reflects the importance of teaching the Quran in a child-friendly manner, according to the academy. As per reports, the objective of this initiative was to improve the children’s awareness about the Quranic letters in an effective and interactive manner. This blend of education and play helped ensure the children had an optimum environment for absorbing the basic Quranic education.
The event was held in Little Memorizers Academy, which is affiliated with the Islamic Society of Kosovo. Competition-based learning is basically the focus of this program, where it allowed kids to learn in a friendly competition situation. Little Memorizers Academy is a specialized center for Quranic education for children, and it is founded by two sisters, Fatima and Renita Nitai, who are also memorizers of the Holy Quran and possess a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Islamic studies from the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Pristina. The high educational standard and dedication of its founders to Quranic education and memorization also significantly influence its educational philosophy, which includes comprehension, love, and association with the Quran.
Since its inception, there have been over 1,000 children introduced to the Quran and Islamic teachings through the academy; the academy has become a prestigious learning institution for young Muslims not only within Kosovo but also internationally, considering the academy reaches out to hundreds of Albanian children in foreign nations via online learning sessions during the summer holidays.
The current programme in Pristina is a manifestation of the continued efforts of the academy in moving Quran education in a manner consistent with the learning demands of the times and maintaining the spiritual significance of the training. All these make the Little Memorizers Academy very significant in instilling beliefs, knowledge, and valuable principles in the younger generation.
