UAE Transitions Schools to Online Learning Amid Security Concerns

    • All public and private schools and universities shift to online classes nationwide.
    • Authorities take the decision as a precautionary safety measure amid rising regional tensions.
    • Academic schedules to continue smoothly with minimal disruption through digital platforms.

The United Arab Emirates has temporarily moved all schools and universities to online learning due to rising regional tensions linked to the recent escalation involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Authorities described the move as a precaution to protect students, teachers, and staff while ensuring education continues smoothly.

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed that distance learning will remain in place from March 2 to March 4, 2026. The directive applies to both public and private institutions across the country. Officials said the situation will remain under review and further decisions will depend on security developments.

Despite the sudden shift, institutions are prepared to operate virtually. Schools and universities have activated digital platforms to conduct live classes, assignments, and assessments. Teachers and administrative staff are coordinating remotely to minimize disruption. Students are expected to follow their regular schedules through approved online systems.
