The initiative is part of UNSW's broader effort to develop graduates who can use artificial intelligence effectively, critically, and responsibly. The rollout has begun with Higher Degree Research candidates and casual academic staff, following earlier access for professional and academic staff. UNSW plans to extend access across its student community before the 2027 academic year while developing a multi-model AI environment that will allow users to engage with different AI systems.Professor Sarah Maddison, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Student Experience, said the university aims to produce 'AI capable graduates' by exposing students to tools increasingly used across industries. UNSW is also strengthening academic integrity through its 'Can, Can't, Must' framework, which establishes when students can, cannot, or must use AI in assessments. The approach is designed to balance AI adoption with the development of foundational knowledge and independent skills. The partnership will support curriculum redesign, discipline-specific AI playbooks, staff training, and AI-enabled research. Students will gain practical experience through hackathons, build challenges, and industry projects across areas including health, climate, defence, fintech, and cybersecurity. The collaboration will also create pathways to internships, graduate opportunities, startups, and innovation networks, positioning UNSW as a leading institution preparing students for an increasingly AI-driven workforce. ERSt. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Taaleem, a leading UAE K-12 education provider, to create structured pathways into medicine for eligible students. The agreement gives students across Taaleem's schools preferential access to SGU's Doctor of Medicine programmes, dedicated academic guidance, guaranteed interview opportunities and scholarship support. Those who complete the International Baccalaureate, A-Levels or a US High School Diploma and meet entry requirements may begin studies at SGU's campus in Grenada or at Northumbria University in Newcastle, UK. SGU's Global Scholarship Program can provide up to USD 80,000 for qualifying international students, with further assistance available.Enrolled students gain clinical training through a network of more than 75 affiliated hospitals and health centres in the United States and the United Kingdom. The partnership supports the UAE's drive to build domestic healthcare talent, including the Nafis National Healthcare Programme's target of qualifying 10,000 Emiratis in medical and healthcare specialties within five years.Lily Phommarack, Associate Director of International Academic Affiliations at SGU, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to UAE students pursuing medicine.
