The next phase focuses on a secure, resilient and ultra-high-capacity network designed to support artificial intelligence workloads, advanced research and large-scale data collaboration.The partnership will provide academic and research centres with dedicated digital pipelines that go beyond conventional internet connections. Institutions will access a private education network built for compute-intensive AI tasks such as model training, deep learning inference and complex data modelling. By reducing congestion, bandwidth limits and latency, the network acts as a digital expressway linking campuses directly to local AI hyperscalers and cloud environments.Abdulla Ebrahim Al Ahmed, Chief Government & VVIP Relations Officer at e& UAE, said the initiative creates a secure, scalable and resilient AI-ready foundation that gives academic institutions sovereign access to advanced AI tools and collaborative platforms.Tarek Jundi, CEO of Ankabut, noted that high-performance computing and data-intensive collaboration now require a digital backbone enabling secure and sovereign research. ERAbu Dhabi University has inaugurated the FertiClinic Reproductive Research Lab on its campus in partnership with FertiClinic Fertilization Group. Located in the College of Health Sciences, the laboratory advances research, innovation and practical training in reproductive medicine while giving students and researchers access to specialised clinical expertise and modern infrastructure.The purpose-built facility focuses on in-vitro fertilization research, including andrology and cryopreservation. It meets Department of Health ­ Abu Dhabi standards and international benchmarks, creating a direct link between academic study and clinical practice.The opening ceremony at ADU's Innovation Center was attended by university leaders, FertiClinic representatives, Department of Health ­ Abu Dhabi officials, faculty, researchers and healthcare professionals. The project supports We the UAE 2031, the UAE Centennial 2071 and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on health, education and partnerships.Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, described the lab as a significant milestone that fosters collaboration between academic researchers and clinical experts, prepares future healthcare leaders and helps position Abu Dhabi as a centre for medical innovation.Dr Elsamawal El Hakim, CEO of FertiClinic Fertilization Group, said the laboratory bridges clinical expertise with academic research to develop solutions that improve patient care and strengthen the UAE's standing in scientific research and healthcare excellence.Students will gain hands-on experience with modern fertility technologies, while researchers access facilities for studies in IVF and related fields.
