In a powerful demonstration of corporate citizenship, AbbVie employees across Asia came together for the annual Week of Possibilities, the company’s flagship global volunteer program organized by the AbbVie Foundation.
This year’s initiative saw 873 employees from seven Asian markets Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, India, Taiwan, and South Korea dedicate more than 3,600 volunteer hours. Working alongside 21 local community organizations, the volunteers made a meaningful difference in the lives of over 4,300 people, focusing on patient support, disability inclusion, education, and environmental sustainability.
The Week of Possibilities continues to serve as a platform for AbbVie employees to translate the company’s commitment to improving lives beyond medicine into tangible community action.
Eduardo Tutihashi, Regional Vice President, AbbVie Asia, highlighted the significance of the program, saying, “Week of Possibilities demonstrates what is possible when our people come together with a shared purpose. Across Asia, our employees dedicated their time, compassion and expertise to support patients, families and communities".
The initiatives were thoughtfully tailored to address specific local needs in each market:
In Thailand, volunteers partnered with the Foundation for the Blind to produce Braille books, record audiobooks, and spend quality time with visually impaired children. In the Philippines, teams packed dignity kits for earthquake-affected communities and organized a Creative Wellness Day for children with disabilities and their caregivers.
India saw employees across four cities engage in environmental activities, educational outings, and programs supporting children and youth with disabilities as well as senior citizens. In Taiwan, inclusive cultural and recreational activities including Dragon Boat Festival celebrations and craft workshops brought joy to people with disabilities.
South Korea volunteers supported patients with neurodegenerative diseases and rare conditions through community outings and creative programs. In Malaysia, employees assisted children’s homes and community kitchens, while in Singapore, teams focused on sustainable farming, meal delivery for vulnerable households, and intergenerational engagement activities.
One volunteer, Allan Javier, Business Unit Manager in Eyecare at AbbVie Philippines, shared his experience: “This activity reminded me that there is a world beyond the four walls of our office. Meeting the children and their families gave me a deeper appreciation for the challenges others face and the resilience they show every day.”

The 2026 Week of Possibilities underscored AbbVie’s dedication to health equity, inclusion, and environmental responsibility. By responding to unique community needs across the region, the program reinforced the company’s belief that transformational change begins with strong local partnerships.
Since its launch in 2014, the Week of Possibilities has grown into one of the AbbVie Foundation’s largest employee engagement programs worldwide. It not only creates direct positive impact but also strengthens the bond between employees and the communities they serve.
This year’s strong participation across Asia reflects the company’s continued commitment to fostering a culture of purpose-driven volunteerism. Through these collective efforts, AbbVie employees are helping build more inclusive, sustainable, and supportive communities across the region.
The success of the Week of Possibilities highlights how corporate volunteer programs can play a vital role in addressing pressing social and environmental challenges while empowering employees to make meaningful contributions beyond their daily responsibilities.
