With the countdown to a new academic session underway, future doctors have a golden chance in store as the PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital (PIMC), affiliated with the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), has commenced admissions to its MBBS course for the 2025-26 session.
One of the most promising new medical colleges of Northeast India, PIMC is inviting online applications based on the notification released by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Meghalaya. Aspiring candidates have been encouraged to apply on the official website by 12 noon on Thursday, July 31, 2025. The first counselling will be conducted between August 1 to August 7, 2025.
Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque outlined his vision for the institution, describing PIMC as a bold step in mainstream medical education following USTM’s earlier healthcare initiative, the University Hospital of Ayurveda & Naturopathy. “Our journey in healthcare began with the University Hospital of Ayurveda & Naturopathy, a world-class initiative. Now, with PIMC, we’re taking a bold step into mainstream medical education, committed to nurturing future healthcare leaders. We would like PIMC to be a place of excellence in medicine and education worldwide", he added.

Opened in October 2024, PIMC is a constituent college of USTM and is quickly emerging as a center for innovative medical education and comprehensive patient care. Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, a faculty of experienced and empathetic professionals, and a curriculum that balances academic excellence with community health, it has already started drawing students from all over the country within a span of less than a year.
USTM is the first and only private university from Northeast India to receive an 'A' Grade accreditation by NAAC in its first inspection and is among the top 200 universities in India in the NIRF 2024 rankings.
