Chulalongkorn University and Jiangxi Strengthen Education Ties

    A delegation from Chulalongkorn University, led by President Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, visited the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education to discuss closer educational collaboration and academic exchanges. The meeting included senior officials such as Mr. Wu Zuowen, Director of the International Cooperation Division, and Mr. Yang Lewen, Director of Jiangxi’s International Cooperation and Teacher Development Center.

    Mr. Wu highlighted the long-standing friendship between China and Thailand, calling the two nations 'one family', and praised Jiangxi’s rich cultural heritage and strong educational system. He emphasized Jiangxi’s commitment to expanding international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and expressed interest in partnerships with Chulalongkorn University in student development, research, and faculty exchanges.

    Professor Dr. Wilert presented Chulalongkorn University’s academic strengths and global engagement, proposing a 'China Pathway Program' with Jiangxi universities. The collaboration aims to include dual-degree programs, two-way student mobility, youth cultural exchanges, and vocational education initiatives designed to develop interdisciplinary skills and professional expertise for global careers.

    Mr. Yang welcomed the proposals, noting they align with Jiangxi’s strategy for high-level international education cooperation. He assured that the International Cooperation and Teacher Development Center would actively support sustainable exchange platforms for higher education institutions.

    The partnership is expected to create wider opportunities for students and educators, fostering skills, job readiness, and cross-cultural competence, while reinforcing China–Thailand ties in education and research.
