Marengo Asia Hospitals today unveiled the launch of the Marengo Asia International Institute of Neuro & Spine (MAIINS) in Gurugram, a trailblazing initiative that will revolutionize neuroscience and spine treatment. The hospital also acquired the services of globally acclaimed neurologist Dr. Praveen Gupta to spearhead this institute and also lead the neurology department. With a multidisciplinary clinical approach, MAIINS unites neurologists, spine surgeons, psychiatrists, psychologists, pain management specialists, and rehabilitation specialists to deliver cooperative, comprehensive, protocol-based care for a broad spectrum of neurological and spine disorders.
Dr Praveen Gupta is India's most awarded and best-respected neurologist. An AIIMS, New Delhi, gold medallist, Dr. Gupta has brought several novel neurological procedures to India, including Asia's first brain pacemaker for epilepsy, deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson's disease, and stem cell transplants for multiple sclerosis.
Dr Raajiv Singhal, Co-Founder, Managing Director & Group CEO, Marengo Asia Hospitals, said, "At Marengo Asia Hospitals, we feel patients should be able to have the convenience of accessing total care under one umbrella. With this institute's launch, we take another bold step in establishing specialised, result-oriented Centres of Excellence that redefine accessibility, clinical acumen, and patient trust in neuro care in the region. Dr. Praveen Gupta not only brings intense clinical experience but also a strong patient-first ethos, which goes hand in hand with our vision".
The institute is well furnished with robotic-assisted spine surgery equipment, sophisticated neuro-monitoring, specialized neuro ICUs, and integrated rehabilitation facilities, making pre-operative, operative, and post-operative services go on without a glitch.
Dr. Praveen Gupta, Chairman, MAIINS and Chief of Clinical Strategy, Growth and Innovation, Marengo Asia Hospitals, added, It is an honour to become a part of Marengo Asia Hospitals and lead the Marengo Asia International Institute of Neuro & Spine (MAIINS). With MAIINS, our goal is to merge clinical expertise, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and preventive approach to neurological and spinal health. Together, we want to enhance early detection, provide long-term disease control, and incorporate mental health and geriatric neurology into mainstream care.
MAIINS also has a clinic-based model of the funnel for early detection and continuity from outpatient to inpatient. Memory disorder, vertigo, movement disorder, and chronic neuro-pain clinics are tailored to detect the conditions at an early stage and treat them preventively.
Adding his perspective, Dr. Saurabh Lall, Facility Director, Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gurugram, stated, "The launch of MAIINS signifies a significant step forward in neurological and spine care delivery in Gurugram and nearby areas". Situated at a strategic location of golf course extension road in Gurgaon, the center is well positioned to cater not only to the Millennium City but also to prime catchment areas in Delhi NCR and North India. The institute is in sync with our vision to increase our community outreach and develop clinic-based programs in residential clusters, schools, and corporate sectors.
A significant emphasis has also been given to geriatric neurology and mental health based in the community. The institute's PHP model will provide outpatient psychological and psychiatric treatment for stress, anxiety, and neuropsychological resilience for schools, workplaces, and residential communities. Concurrently, its geriatric neurology program will provide hyperlocal engagement and follow-up tracks for geriatric patients, enhancing access, compliance, and outcomes.
With the opening of MAIINS in Gurugram, Marengo Asia Hospitals further establishes itself as a high-acuity, protocol-based healthcare provider leader.
