Dusit Thani First Certified Japan Hospitality Training Center

    • Dusit Thani College becomes Thailand’s first certified centre for Japan’s Accommodation Industry Proficiency Test.
    • It trains and certifies Thai and ASEAN students for skilled hospitality jobs in Japan via the SSW visa.
    • The pathway supports Dusit Thani’s Talent Opportunity Programme with training, language, and job placement.

Dusit Thani College, a top hospitality education institute in Thailand, has become the country’s first official testing centre for Japan’s Accommodation Industry Proficiency Test. This new certification enables Thai and ASEAN students to train locally and earn credentials that qualify them for skilled hospitality roles in Japan.

The agreement was signed in early September 2025 with key Japanese industry bodies, including the All Japan Ryokan Hotel Association and the General Incorporated Association Center for Accommodation Industry Proficiency Test. The partnership also involves support from Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau and Jeducation, a Japanese language school in Bangkok.

This certification opens a clear career path for students enrolled in Dusit Thani’s hospitality and culinary arts programmes. Graduates who pass the proficiency test can apply for Japan’s Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa, a program designed to fill labor shortages in Japan’s hospitality and food sectors.

Dusit Thani College’s Talent Opportunity Programme (TOP) fast tracks students for entry level roles within six months, combining practical training with official certification. Education supports the pathway by offering Japanese language courses to meet visa requirements and help students adapt to life and work in Japan.

The All Japan Ryokan Hotel Association will assist graduates by promoting their skills to over 15,000 traditional inns and hotels in Japan, while Dusit Hotels and Resorts offers placements at properties like Dusit Thani Kyoto.

Recruitment for the TOP Japan Pathway programme starts in October 2025, with exams and job fairs planned for February 2026.
