At a recent media luncheon, John Lee Chi-Kin, president of EdUHK, emphasized that the university is committed to supporting Hong Kong’s ambition to become a leading talent hub and a global leader in education.
To achieve this vision, EdUHK has unveiled new teaching and research facilities, including a modern teaching building on its Tai Po campus and study centers in the West Kowloon Cultural District. Beyond Hong Kong, the university has established the EduHK Shenzhen Research Institute at the Shenzhen Virtual University Park and a training center in Luohu, reinforcing its commitment to regional collaboration and cross-border academic engagement.
In the upcoming academic year, EdUHK plans to launch around 50 new taught postgraduate programs covering areas such as Belt and Road Business Communication and Administration, National Security Law, and Digital Human Resource Management, designed to equip students with cross-disciplinary expertise and a global perspective.

At the undergraduate level, the university will establish its Honours College, offering selected students research opportunities, internships, and international exchanges under the guidance of distinguished faculty. Generous scholarships and financial aid of up to HK$240,000 ($30,631) will support each student admitted for the 2025–26 academic year.
In response to the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), EdUHK has introduced a three-year roadmap to enhance the AI capabilities of both students and staff, including AI-themed courses and innovation projects. The university has also strengthened its international outlook by recruiting over 40 faculty members from countries such as Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Recent recognition in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, where EdUHK ranked 7th globally and 2nd in Asia for education, underscores the university’s growing international reputation.
Looking forward, EdUHK aims to continue cultivating highly skilled talent, deepen regional partnerships, and integrate AI across learning and teaching. Initiatives such as the Shenzhen institute and AI-powered innovation platforms are central to the university’s vision of providing students with cutting-edge skills and preparing them to excel in a rapidly evolving global landscape
