Hyeopseong University Opens Recruitment For 2027 Dual Training

  • Synopsis
Hyeopseong University has opened recruitment for its 2027 Dual Training Program. The program combines academic education with practical industry training, allowing students to gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on work experience. It aims to enhance employability, strengthen industry-academia collaboration, and equip participants with job-ready skills through structured workplace learning and professional development opportunities.

Hyeopseong University has officially launched recruitment for companies interested in participating in its 2027 Work-Study Dual Training Program, a nationally recognized initiative designed to develop industry-ready talent while helping businesses address workforce shortages. The announcement was made by the university’s Work-Study Dual Training Center, which is currently seeking new corporate partners to join the expanding program that combines academic education with practical workplace training.

According to university officials, the four-year university work-study dual training program is built on Korea’s National Competency Standards (NCS) framework and is designed to provide students with hands-on professional experience while they continue their academic studies. The system is modeled after Germany’s well-known apprenticeship structure but has been adapted to meet the needs of Korean industries and educational institutions. The program aims to strengthen collaboration between universities and employers while creating a sustainable pipeline of highly skilled talent for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

As labor shortages continue to challenge many industries, the program has gained attention as an effective solution for employers seeking to recruit and develop skilled workers. By allowing students to gain practical experience directly within participating companies, businesses can train future employees according to their operational requirements while students acquire valuable industry knowledge before graduation.

The Hyeopseong University Work-Study Dual Training Center currently operates training programs across several high-demand sectors, including marketing strategy planning, applied software engineering, architectural design, visual design, chemical substance analysis, human resources and general affairs, and hotel management. These fields have been selected to align with current labor market demands and provide students with opportunities to develop specialized professional skills that are directly relevant to industry needs.

University officials reported that 17 companies are currently participating in the program. However, recruitment efforts for 2027 are expected to expand participation further as demand for qualified talent continues to increase across multiple sectors. Companies joining the program gain access to a structured talent development system that helps bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace requirements.

Since being selected as an official operating institution for the work-study dual training program in November 2016, Hyeopseong University has established a strong reputation for program excellence. The university received an 'A' rating for six consecutive years in national university program performance evaluations conducted between 2017 and 2022, highlighting its success in delivering quality training and maintaining strong partnerships with participating employers.

One of the major attractions for businesses is the extensive financial and operational support available through the program. Participating companies can receive funding to develop customized training programs, create learning materials, and establish the infrastructure necessary to support workplace-based education. Additional support is provided for training dedicated personnel responsible for mentoring and supervising students throughout their training period.

Companies also qualify for a range of financial incentives, including on-the-job training (OJT) support, annual allowances ranging from 4 million to 16 million won for corporate field instructors, and annual support of up to 3 million won for HRD managers. Student trainees participating in the program may also receive monthly training support payments of 250,000 won, helping encourage engagement and skill development throughout the learning process.

Beyond financial assistance, participating employers can benefit from several administrative advantages. These include additional points when applying for recognition as a clean workplace, preferential consideration in Best HRD evaluations, extra points for excellent procurement product assessments, and favorable consideration when applying for programs related to alternative military service eligibility.

A representative from the Hyeopseong University Work-Study Dual Training Center emphasized that the program offers companies a practical and long-term solution for talent acquisition. The representative noted that the system enables employers to cultivate company-specific expertise among future employees while addressing ongoing recruitment challenges. With workforce development becoming an increasingly important priority across industries, the university is encouraging businesses seeking skilled talent and sustainable recruitment solutions to actively participate in the 2027 Work-Study Dual Training Program.
