Negros Occidental’s newly launched online jobs portal is gaining strong traction just weeks after going live, signaling growing confidence among both employers and job seekers in the province’s digital employment push. Since its launch in December, the Negros Jobs portal has attracted 31 employers who have posted a combined 86 job vacancies, while nearly 4,700 job seekers have already registered and are actively using the platform.
Provincial Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Manager Karen Dinsay said the early response has been encouraging, particularly due to the platform’s user-friendly design. She noted that both employers and applicants have shared positive feedback about how simple and accessible the portal is to use. According to Dinsay, companies have found it easy to post vacancies, while job seekers are able to browse and apply without complications. She added that the provincial government expects more employers to come on board in the coming months as awareness of the portal continues to grow.
Beyond registrations, the portal has already begun delivering tangible results. Seven applicants have been successfully hired through the platform, demonstrating its potential to shorten hiring timelines and connect local talent with employment opportunities. One of the early success stories is 27-year-old Jan Roland Broce from La Carlota City, who became the first confirmed hire through the system. Broce secured a position as a business development officer after discovering the portal through a QR code.

Sharing his experience, Broce said the online process was straightforward and efficient. He explained that after scanning the QR code, he was able to navigate the portal easily, complete his application online, and submit the required details without the need for multiple in-person visits. Within a week of applying, he was contacted and eventually hired, a process he described as smooth and hassle-free.
The Negros Jobs portal features a wide range of employment opportunities across multiple sectors, including wholesale and retail trade, engineering, construction, manufacturing, real estate, and business process outsourcing. By bringing these opportunities onto a single digital platform, the provincial government aims to simplify recruitment, reduce mismatches between employers and applicants, and broaden access to livelihood opportunities, particularly for residents who may find it difficult to engage with traditional job-search channels.
Dinsay emphasized that the portal is part of a broader effort to modernize employment services in the province and make job matching more responsive to local needs. With early hires already recorded and thousands of job seekers actively exploring opportunities, the Negros Jobs portal is emerging as a practical tool for strengthening employment outcomes and supporting inclusive economic growth across Negros Occidental.
