Oracle Academy Launches Project Vijay To Expand AI Database Education

  • Synopsis
Oracle Academy has launched Project Vijay to strengthen AI and database education across Indian universities. The initiative aims to equip students and educators with industry-relevant skills in artificial intelligence, data management, and emerging technologies, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and workforce requirements while supporting India’s digital transformation goals.

As industries worldwide continue embracing artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital transformation, the demand for graduates equipped with modern technology skills is growing at an unprecedented pace. Recognizing this shift in workforce requirements, Oracle Academy, in collaboration with Oracle AI Database in Education, launched Project Vijay, a groundbreaking national initiative aimed at expanding access to advanced AI database education across higher education institutions in India.

Introduced in January 2026, the 12-week program brought together 10 universities and colleges from across the country, including institutions located in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The initiative was designed to make high-quality AI learning, database technologies, and cloud education accessible to students regardless of geographic location. Through the Applied Database Systems using Oracle AI Database (ADS 26AI) curriculum, participants gained hands-on experience with some of the most sought-after technologies shaping today's digital economy.

Students and faculty were introduced to a wide range of cutting-edge tools and concepts, including Oracle AI Database, Oracle APEX, low-code application development, AI Vector Search, Generative AI, Spatial and Graph technologies, and Oracle Data Studio. As organizations increasingly seek professionals with expertise in data management, artificial intelligence, and cloud platforms, the initiative provided learners with practical skills aligned with real-world industry needs.

One of the most impactful aspects of Project Vijay was its focus on empowering educators. Rather than functioning as a one-time training program, the initiative adopted a faculty-led model designed to create long-term educational impact. Participating faculty members attended technical enablement sessions, collaborative workshops, and guided learning engagements that covered advanced topics such as JSON, GenAI, Select AI, modern data strategies, and application development. By strengthening faculty expertise, Oracle enabled institutions to continue delivering advanced AI database courses independently, ensuring sustainable growth in technology education.

Faculty participants praised the initiative for transforming classroom learning and strengthening industry-academic collaboration. Educators highlighted how access to professional learning resources and free Oracle Cloud environments significantly increased student interest in emerging technologies while helping faculty integrate industry-relevant content into their academic programs.

The program’s impact on students was equally impressive. Across the 10 participating institutions, more than 6,000 students enrolled in the initiative, creating one of the largest collaborative efforts focused on AI education and database technology training. Among actively monitored participants, 64 percent successfully completed the ADS 26AI course, demonstrating strong engagement and commitment to mastering highly technical subject matter.

Students also had opportunities to apply their knowledge through real-world projects and innovation challenges. One standout achievement was the development of SmartSupply, a unified distributor-retailer workflow platform that earned top recognition during the Project Vijay Hackathon. The solution combined machine learning, predictive inventory management, a Generative AI assistant, and vector-based semantic search, showcasing how students could leverage advanced Oracle technologies to address practical business challenges. Such projects highlighted the growing importance of experiential learning in preparing graduates for modern technology careers.

To further enhance career readiness, participating students and faculty gained access to three globally recognized Oracle certifications: Oracle Data Platform Foundations Associate, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations Associate, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI Foundations Associate. These credentials provided participants with valuable industry-recognized qualifications that align with increasing employer demand for expertise in AI, cloud computing, and data platforms.

The initiative concluded with a celebratory event at Oracle’s Noida office, where students, faculty members, mentors, and industry leaders gathered to recognize achievements and discuss the future of AI talent development. The success of Project Vijay has demonstrated a scalable model for expanding AI education, cloud learning, and database training across India. As the country accelerates its digital transformation journey, Oracle Academy’s commitment to developing a future-ready workforce is helping shape the next generation of AI professionals, cloud experts, and data-driven innovators prepared to thrive in an increasingly technology-powered world.
