Pepsodent Launches TeethTalk Academy for Dentfluencers in Indonesia

    • Pepsodent Indonesia launched the TeethTalk Academy for Dentfluencers, a social media program to help dentists and oral care enthusiasts create engaging digital content.
    • The initiative teaches skills like storytelling, personal branding, video editing, and trend engagement, empowering participants to share evidence-based oral health advice.
    • With low dental visit rates and poor brushing habits in Indonesia, the academy aims to build trusted online voices to promote better oral care and reduce misinformation.

Pepsodent, the oral care brand from Unilever Indonesia, has launched the TeethTalk Academy for Dentfluencers, a pioneering social media academy aimed at transforming dental professionals and oral care enthusiasts into 'dentfluencers' in Indonesia. The initiative is designed to help dentists, dental undergraduates, and oral care advocates develop content-making skills to effectively communicate oral health advice on social media, bridging the gap between expertise and engagement.

Developed by Omnicom Advertising’s dedicated Unilever team, TeethTalk Academy combines professional dental knowledge with digital content creation, empowering participants to deliver evidence-based advice in ways that are entertaining, accessible, and shareable. The program’s first workshop, held in March 2026, featured a comprehensive syllabus covering niche discovery, lighting and editing, on-camera presence, content formats, short-form storytelling techniques, personal branding, trendjacking, and social engagement skills. Leading the workshops are The Singing Dentist, alongside Indonesian creators Zaki, Twomann, and Vinco, marking the beginning of a vibrant community of dentfluencers.

Madhurjya (Banjo) Banerjee, Senior Global Brand Director for Oral Care at Unilever, emphasized that dentists have long been the backbone of oral health education. “In today’s digital world, expertise needs an additional layer of storytelling to reach people. With TeethTalk Academy, we help dental professionals build engaging voices on social media, improving awareness and reducing anxiety around visiting the dentist,” he said. Dr. Milad Shadrooh, known as The Singing Dentist, added that social media offers dentists a powerful platform to make oral care approachable, relatable, and human.

Indonesia faces notable oral health challenges, with approximately 96% of the population not visiting a dentist in the past year and only 2.8% practicing correct brushing habits. Sarvesh Raikar, Regional Creative Lead at Omnicom Advertising, highlighted that many young people form beliefs about health on social media, and if credible voices do not appear, misinformation can flourish. TeethTalk Academy is intended to nurture the next generation of dentfluencers, empowering trusted creators to inspire healthier habits and shape the future of oral care education in Indonesia.
