- SAYA expands cybersecurity awareness programme via NTT DOCOMO gacco, enabling enterprise-wide access across Japan’s trusted digital learning platform
- Training focuses on human-centric and AI-era cyber risks, addressing behavioural vulnerabilities through culturally tailored, Japanese-language content
- Collaboration aims to strengthen security literacy at scale, embedding daily cyber hygiene into workplace and consumer learning ecosystems
SAYA Cybersecurity Awareness, a Japan-focused training platform designed to strengthen human-centric cybersecurity education, has expanded the availability of its cybersecurity awareness programme through NTT DOCOMO gacco, one of Japan’s most widely used and trusted digital learning platforms. The move allows SAYA’s training to reach enterprise users across Japan through gacco’s learning ecosystem, which currently serves more than one million learners nationwide.
The expansion comes at a time when cybersecurity incidents in Japan are increasingly driven by human behaviour rather than technical system failures. Despite this reality, many organisations still rely on generic or translated awareness programmes that fail to connect with employees or bring about meaningful behavioural change. As a result, businesses remain vulnerable to risks that could otherwise be prevented through more relevant and engaging training.
Cyber threats have also grown more complex with the rise of artificial intelligence. Today’s attacks often use AI-powered phishing, deepfake impersonation and highly personalised social engineering tactics that are harder for employees to identify. These threats exploit human judgement, trust and everyday workplace decisions, placing renewed importance on awareness training that goes beyond technical explanations.
SAYA was created specifically to address this gap within the Japanese context. All of its content is developed originally in Japanese and tailored to local workplace culture, communication styles and real-world threat scenarios, including emerging AI-driven risks. Training is delivered through short, anime-style micro-learning modules combined with interactive quizzes, making it easier for learners to stay engaged and retain critical information.
SAYA’s cybersecurity awareness programme is now available as an official learning path within 'Gacco for Biz', NTT DOCOMO gacco’s enterprise learning environment. This enables organisations to directly access, evaluate and deploy SAYA’s training through gacco’s learning management system, integrating cybersecurity awareness alongside other professional and compliance programmes within a platform that employees already trust.

With gacco’s strong adoption among large enterprises and educational institutions, the collaboration is expected to support deeper security literacy across Japan’s workforce. By embedding awareness training into everyday learning, organisations can reinforce daily cyber hygiene practices and build long-term resilience through continuous education.
Crystal Lopez, Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer of SAYA University, said that cybersecurity challenges in Japan are no longer primarily technological. “Cybersecurity in Japan is no longer a technology gap it’s a human one”, she said. “Awareness must reach not only employees, but also everyday people navigating digital life. By extending SAYA’s training through NTT DOCOMO gacco, we can deliver natively Japanese, culturally fluent cybersecurity education at enterprise scale, while helping foster a broader culture of safety and awareness across society”.
Beyond enterprise training, SAYA also offers consumer-focused digital safety and literacy programmes under its 'Anshin', or safety, initiatives. These programmes aim to help individuals and families protect themselves from online fraud, manipulation and emerging digital threats in everyday life.
By combining SAYA’s human-focused approach with the scale and credibility of NTT DOCOMO gacco’s learning infrastructure, the collaboration provides organisations and individuals with a scalable and sustainable pathway to strengthening cybersecurity awareness across Japan.
