SeoulTech and Korea Mint Partner to Advance Design Education Skills

    • SeoulTech signs a strategic partnership with Korea Mint to strengthen industry-academia collaboration
    • Students will gain practical design experience through real-world creative product development projects
    • The initiative focuses on building industry-ready skills, hands-on learning, and future career opportunities

Seoul National University of Science and Technology has signed a new agreement with Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and create new learning opportunities for students. The partnership will focus on developing commemorative medals and currency-themed creative products while giving students practical, hands-on experience through real-world projects.

The agreement was signed at SeoulTech’s campus in Seoul, where leaders from both institutions discussed future collaboration plans before formalizing the partnership. Under the agreement, both organizations will work together on product design, commercialization efforts, exhibitions, promotional activities, and the development of new joint projects.

A major focus of the collaboration will be student-led projects through SeoulTech’s Department of Metal Craft and Design. These initiatives will allow students to apply classroom knowledge to industry-driven assignments while building practical skills that can improve future job opportunities. The university said the partnership is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional industry requirements. Students will gain direct exposure to product planning, design execution, and collaboration with a leading public institution.

Donghwan Kim, President of SeoulTech, said the agreement will help create a stronger model for industry-academia cooperation by combining creative design with technical expertise. The collaboration is also expected to help students better understand how design concepts move from classrooms into real commercial and public-sector applications.
