Songpa District Launches Digital Literacy Center for AI

    • Songpa District is launching a Digital Literacy Learning Center program in May to help residents build confidence with smartphones and AI
    • Selected by the Seoul Lifelong Education Promotion Agency, the initiative offers free, practical training at the KT Corporation building
    • The program focuses on real-life digital skills like online shopping, kiosk use, and AI tools, with hands-on sessions and field learning experiences

In a world where everything from banking to grocery shopping is going digital, Songpa District is stepping up with a people-first approach to tech education. Starting this May, the district is launching a Digital Literacy Learning Center program designed to help residents especially those less familiar with smartphones and artificial intelligence (AI) feel more confident navigating everyday digital life.

The initiative comes after Songpa was selected for the 2026 Digital Literacy Learning Center Operation Project by the Seoul Lifelong Education Promotion Agency, signaling a growing push toward lifelong learning and digital inclusion. Classes will take place at the Songpa Run Head Center inside the KT Corporation building, offering a welcoming space where technology feels less intimidating and more accessible.

What makes this program stand out is its practical, real-life focus. Participants won’t just learn theory they’ll practice sending messages, organizing photos, using YouTube, accessing Government24, and even navigating online shopping. There’s also a strong emphasis on kiosk usage, with hands-on training for booking movie tickets, ordering fast food, and using bank ATMs skills that are increasingly essential in a digital society.

The AI education program takes things a step further, introducing learners to AI prompts, language translation, navigation tools, and even content creation. Advanced sessions explore trip planning, schedule management, and smarter ways to integrate AI into daily routines.

Beyond the classroom, the program offers field-based experiential learning at places like Lotte World Mall, banks, and public institutions, along with visits to AI-powered unmanned stores and self-checkout systems. Open to all adult residents and completely free, this initiative is redefining community education by making digital skills training both approachable and genuinely useful in everyday life.
