Sun Moon University has announced the launch of a government-backed vocational education program for selected international students enrolled in colleges and universities across South Chungcheong Province. The initiative, which begins this summer, is a collaborative effort involving the South Chungcheong Regional Innovation System & Education Center, the Chungnam Economic Promotion Agency, and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency.
A total of 113 students from 12 different countries have been selected to participate in the intensive six-week program. While most of the participants are from Sun Moon University, some students from other regional universities have also joined.
The program is designed to enhance the students' practical skills and career readiness. It includes preparatory classes for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) Level 4, computer literacy training, and a specialized job development camp. In addition, participants will engage in on-the-job training sessions offered by private corporations and partner organizations throughout the country.
Sun Moon University President Moon Sung-jae emphasized the broader goal of the initiative: “We will always lead the way in developing a sustainable workforce ecosystem where international students can easily settle in Korea and grow to become professional talent".
The program aims to foster global talent while supporting Korea’s long-term workforce development.
