OSP Cyber Academy has made a strategic alliance with Bahrain's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to offer cyber safety education to 70,000 students across the Kingdom. This partnership brings culturally sensitive, gamified cyber awareness courses to improve students' knowledge of digital citizenship and best practices in cyber security. Four interactive courses have been created, specifically designed for age ranges 6–8, 9–11, 12–14, and 15–17, to provide specific cyber awareness training to these children.
The lessons involve avatars of a boy and a girl that lead students through actual online safety situations in digital worlds based on famous Bahrain landmarks. With an interactive learning platform and question-provoking challenges, the website maintains high retention of knowledge in a fun and relevant way. This initiative, launched in collaboration with His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed AlKhalifa, CEO of NCSC Bahrain, builds on OSP Cyber Academy’s long-standing commitment to the Kingdom.
Each year, OSP Cyber Academy sponsors the UK pavilion at the Arab International Cyber Security Summit (AICS) in Bahrain and made news in 2023 by setting a Guinness World Record for the 'Most People to Take an Online Internet Safety Lesson in 24 Hours.' While undertaking this challenge, 1,550 students from 44 nations took the lesson within the allotted time frame, making it the biggest ever cyber security training event.
The new curriculum has been created by OSP's team of experienced educators and cyber experts, several of whom have policing and teaching backgrounds. Their specialized expertise guarantees that the courses properly inform children about the dangers of the digital world without making the learning process dull by using interactive gaming techniques.
We are delighted to introduce our new alliance with NCSC Bahrain and to extend our online courses to such an important demographic. Kids are coming up in a digital world, and it is imperative that they are taught how to safely navigate it. Whether learning, socializing, playing games, or chatting with friends, the online world has a significant place in their lives.". We need to make sure that kids are exposed to the threat of the internet, able to recognize potential risks, and have security best practices. Our courses are intended to address these requirements in a way that children will have fun with. The interactive games are not only enjoyable, but they also offer valuable information on how to keep them safe online," concluded Tommy McCarthy, OSP Cyber Academy CEO.
