Chitkara International School (CIS), which has branches in Panchkula and Chandigarh, has made a milestone achievement by being the first educational institution in North India to join hands with the World Design Council (WDC), UK. The move makes CIS an official learning partner of WDC, ushering in a new era in international design education for the region.

The MoU was inked with Honey Chitkara, Associate Vice-President of School Education, Niyati Chitkara, Vice-President of School Education, Philip Thomas, Country Head India of WDC, and Vanessa Meister, Senior Fellow of WDC, whose presence emphasized the pivotal role played by creativity and design leadership in determining the future of learning.

Through this collaboration, CIS will transform its learning environment by launching the Future Creative Minds Programme, an international skilling program handpicked by WDC. The programme is intended to empower students with the key twenty-first-century skills such as design thinking, innovation, problem-solving, data analysis, AI literacy, sustainability practice, communication, and ethics. By integrating these into the curriculum, CIS hopes to develop students into future-proof citizens capable of succeeding in a fast-changing world economy.

The program is designed with great care to supplement the CBSE syllabus with advanced modules, faculty sessions, and hands-on workshops. Outside the classroom, students will have access to global platforms where they can showcase their innovative ideas, participate in cross-cultural interactions, and enhance their international exposure. This mix of academic intensity and applied involvement promises to enhance learning and promote innovation and collaboration.

Delivering the address on the occasion, Niyati Chitkara underlined that the partnership is a clear example of how the school is committed to providing game-changing education. She pointed out that through becoming a certified learning partner of WDC, students will be enabled to become game-changing innovators, problem-solvers, and change-makers who have the confidence to leave their mark globally.

She added that the programme has huge scope to enrich student portfolios, thereby opening doors to scholarships, higher education, and wide-ranging career prospects. Through interdisciplinary integration of science, technology, arts, and society, the alliance maximizes real-world preparedness and boosts creativity. For CIS, this alliance is not just an academic development; it is a visionary move toward readying young minds to face global challenges with creativity and resilience.
