HSBC Singapore has strengthened its Premier Global Education proposition to help affluent families manage every stage of their children’s overseas education, combining financial planning, cross-border banking and specialist advisory services.
The enhanced offering integrates HSBC’s international network with expert education partners, giving Premier clients and their children practical support from university pathway planning through to living and studying abroad. It also provides exclusive access to leadership and networking opportunities designed to prepare the next generation for global careers.
One highlight is exclusive access this year to the British Chamber of Commerce’s Student CEO Experience. The five-day immersion programme, sponsored by HSBC and offered at no cost to eligible Premier clients, is aimed at students aged 17–21. Participants gain behind-the-scenes insight into leading organisations through company visits and direct interaction with senior leaders.
As part of its wider commitment to next-generation education, HSBC has partnered with the British Council to launch the HSBC Scholarship for UK study. Funded by the bank, the scholarship awards S$25,000 in financial support to an eligible Singapore-based student pursuing undergraduate studies in the United Kingdom.
The proposition is structured around three pillars that address the full education journey.
Under PLAN, clients receive specialist admissions and education support through HSBC’s network of partners, including Crimson Education, InGenius Prep, AUG Student Services, TheRightU, BE Education and Ed-SG. Services range from personalised guidance on pre-tertiary and tertiary pathways and profile building to admissions preparation, plus access to local and international summer programmes, private seminars and university fairs.
PREPARE focuses on financial planning and international banking. In-house advisory helps families incorporate overseas education costs into broader wealth plans. Clients also benefit from preferential foreign-exchange rates and rewards on eligible overseas education-related credit-card spending.
PROTECT covers practical needs once students are overseas. This includes accommodation and relocation support in key study destinations via global partners, discounted Global Study Insurance, and travel benefits such as airport lounge access, limousine transfers and companion ticket offers with Singapore Airlines.
These enhancements build on existing Premier cross-border capabilities. Clients can open bank accounts in their destination country before arrival, share Premier privileges with immediate family overseas through HSBC Premier Family, and view and transfer funds across markets with zero fees using Global View and Global Money Transfer.

The timing coincides with continued growth in international student mobility. UNESCO data show the number of students studying abroad has more than tripled since 2000, reaching 7.3 million. The United Kingdom remains a preferred destination for Singaporean students. According to the British High Commission, more than 7,500 Singaporeans will study in the UK this autumn, accounting for about 40 per cent of Singapore undergraduates going overseas. The University of Oxford’s Annual Admissions Statistical Report 2026 ranked Singapore as a top non-UK contributor to admissions, second only to China.
Ashmita Acharya, Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking at HSBC Singapore, said: “An overseas education is one of the most significant investments a family can make in their children’s future, and it’s a journey that extends well beyond admissions to funding, travel and on-the-ground integration. Our enhanced Global Education proposition simplifies this journey end-to-end, leveraging the strength of our international network to help them navigate the spectrum of international needs while empowering their next-gen’s overseas ambitions – all through a single Premier relationship.”
The Global Education proposition forms part of HSBC’s broader upgrades to its Premier offering in Singapore, spanning wealth, health, international and lifestyle needs across markets, generations and life stages. Earlier this year the bank opened its fourth and largest wealth centre at Singapore Land Tower and launched Singapore’s first bank-led integrated health, wellness and longevity proposition under Premier. HSBC was named Singapore’s Best International Bank at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026.
By combining banking privileges, specialist advisory partnerships and exclusive developmental programmes, HSBC aims to reduce the complexity families face when sending children abroad for education. The package covers planning, funding, protection and real-world exposure, delivered through a single Premier relationship and HSBC’s global network.
