Nestlé Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the halal ecosystem and nurturing future-ready talent through a new partnership with the International Islamic University Malaysia. The collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding with the Kulliyyah of Science at IIUM Kuantan, in conjunction with the Halal STEM Expo.

The partnership focuses on advancing halal science, technology, engineering and mathematics education while bridging the gap between academia and industry. Both parties emphasized that the initiative will strengthen industry-academia linkages, foster innovation, and build a strong pipeline of halal talent in Malaysia.

Nestlé Malaysia’s Head of Halal Affairs, Nasrul Hadi Mohamed Nor, highlighted that the company’s commitment extends beyond maintaining high halal standards in its operations. He noted that the initiative aims to spark interest in STEM fields, offering students insights into how science and technology shape the halal ecosystem while opening pathways to future career opportunities.

Key highlights included the 'Halal Frontier Talk', with participation from Nestlé Malaysia and the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia, as well as an Innovate Challenge where students presented sustainability-focused prototypes aligned with halal principles. Interactive booths further showcased Nestlé Malaysia’s halal value chain and its application of STEM in industry.
