In an effort to elevate the standards of government schools in Telangana, the state government has selected 28 educators for an international exposure visit to some of the world’s leading educational destinations. The initiative, known as the Teachers’ Exposure Visit and Educational Exchange Programme, is designed to provide teachers with firsthand experience of global best practices in education and equip them with innovative teaching techniques to bring back to classrooms across Telangana.
The selected participants include Headmasters, School Assistants, and Secondary Grade Teachers from various districts, reflecting a diverse mix of expertise and perspectives. Over five days, from April 20 to 24, these educators will travel to Finland, Singapore, Vietnam, and Japan, each country offering unique insights into world-class educational systems.
Finland, renowned for its student-centered approach and emphasis on teacher autonomy, offers a model of holistic education that has consistently topped global rankings. Japan and Singapore are celebrated for their disciplined learning environments, rigorous STEM education, and innovative teaching technologies, while Vietnam’s rapid rise in global educational assessments provides valuable lessons in effective policy and classroom practice.

Dr. E Naveen Nicolas, IAS, Director of School Education, highlighted that the program aims to enhance the professional capacities of teachers by immersing them in schools that set international benchmarks for academic excellence. By observing classroom strategies, school management systems, and innovative pedagogical methods, these educators are expected to return with actionable insights that can transform teaching and learning in Telangana’s state-run schools.
To ensure a smooth experience, the Education Department has organized a virtual orientation for participants on March 25, covering visa procedures, necessary documentation, and other logistical details. This preparatory step underscores the government’s commitment to making the visit a meaningful learning opportunity.
Through initiatives like the international exposure program for teachers, Telangana is taking proactive steps to bring global perspectives into local classrooms, fostering an environment where both teachers and students can thrive in line with the highest educational standards.
