GE HealthCare, Tucker Medical Launch MRI Education Hub in Singapore

  • Tucker Medical has installed a GE HealthCare SIGNA 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging system at its Novena Specialist Center in Singapore, marking a significant expansion of its personalized preventive care capabilities. The installation, announced on 3 September 2026, forms the centerpiece of a new collaboration between the Singapore-based clinic and GE HealthCare focused on advanced imaging, clinical education and knowledge exchange across Southeast Asia.

Founded by medical oncologist Dr. Steven Tucker, Tucker Medical operates on its proprietary “ASAP” framework Assessment, Screening And Prevention. The model personalizes care according to each patient’s individual risk profile, incorporating genetics, family and personal medical history, prior cancer treatment, and metabolic and cardiovascular factors. Special emphasis is placed on people with hereditary cancer risk, adult survivors of childhood cancer, long-term cancer survivors, and others who require carefully tailored long-term surveillance.

The newly installed SIGNA 1.5T system is equipped with several of GE HealthCare’s advanced technologies, including AIR Recon DL deep-learning image reconstruction, Sonic DL for faster MRI acquisition, AIR Coil technology and Digital Expert remote capabilities. These tools are designed to deliver high-quality images, improve workflow efficiency and enhance the overall patient experience during MRI examinations.

Dr Steven Tucker, Founder and Medical Director of Tucker Medical, explained the strategic value of the addition: “At Tucker Medical, we believe prevention becomes more meaningful when it is informed by a deeper understanding of each individual’s risk and health trajectory. This applies both to individuals with increased risk who have never had cancer and cancer survivors whose disease and prior treatment may create health risks that persist for decades. Imaging is an important part of that picture. The addition of MRI allows us to further integrate imaging into our broader assessment, screening and longitudinal surveillance approach and to continue developing our model of personalized preventive care in Singapore and across the region.”

Dede Yan, Zone General Manager for SEA6 (Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Brunei and Laos) at GE HealthCare, highlighted the broader shift in healthcare: “Healthcare is increasingly moving toward more personalized approaches that bring together clinical information across the patient journey, and imaging has an important role to play in supporting that shift. We are pleased to support Tucker Medical as it expands its imaging capabilities and to explore opportunities to share knowledge, strengthen clinical education and help advance imaging practices across Southeast Asia.”

Beyond the equipment installation, the two organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding that establishes a framework for collaboration in clinical education, knowledge exchange, research support and the advancement of imaging excellence. One key ambition under discussion is the potential development of Tucker Medical as a regional immersion training centre. If realized, the centre would offer healthcare professionals opportunities to experience advanced MRI technologies in a live clinical environment through workflow demonstrations, case reviews, clinical observations and peer-to-peer education.

The partners also plan to explore ways of gathering product feedback and clinical insights from real-world use, as well as supporting future educational activities, professional forums and knowledge-sharing initiatives focused on medical imaging and oncology. These efforts are intended to benefit clinicians and institutions across Southeast Asia, where demand for high-quality, personalized diagnostic and preventive services continues to grow.

GE HealthCare is a global healthcare solutions provider specializing in advanced medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and AI, cloud and software solutions. With a history spanning 130 years, the company employs approximately 54,000 people and generated $20.6 billion in revenue. It operates across Advanced Imaging Solutions, Patient Care Solutions and Pharmaceutical Diagnostics, with the goal of enabling more precise and personalized patient care. GE HealthCare was also recognized among the 2026 Fortune World’s Most Admired Companies.

The collaboration between Tucker Medical and GE HealthCare reflects a wider industry movement toward precision prevention — an approach that combines advanced imaging, individual risk assessment and long-term surveillance rather than relying solely on reactive treatment. By integrating a state-of-the-art 1.5T MRI system into an already risk-informed clinical model, Tucker Medical aims to strengthen its ability to detect and monitor health risks earlier and more accurately for patients in Singapore and the surrounding region.

As healthcare systems across Asia increasingly prioritize prevention and personalized medicine, partnerships that combine clinical expertise with cutting-edge imaging technology are likely to play a growing role. The Tucker Medical–GE HealthCare relationship offers a practical example of how such collaboration can expand both patient care capabilities and professional training opportunities in Southeast Asia.
