Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon Mr Mfazo Hove, founder of Blue Fin Vision, has been confirmed as a ZEISS faculty speaker and advisor for a major international programme of ophthalmic education and professional engagement scheduled for 2026. The announcement highlights his growing global recognition as a leader in premium cataract and refractive surgery, as well as his role in advancing high clinical standards through education and advisory leadership.
Based in London, Mr Hove will play a central role in a multi-city teaching programme across China, forming the core of his ZEISS faculty commitments for the year. A key highlight will be his participation in the ZEISS Horizon User Meeting, to be held in Shanghai from 17 to 19 April 2026. Now in its fourth year, the Horizon User Meeting is a flagship Asia-Pacific professional education event organised by ZEISS, bringing together leading surgeons to exchange clinical insights and experience. Mr Hove’s principal presentation is scheduled for 18 April and will focus on long-term clinical outcomes and surgeon experience with ZEISS AT LISA trifocal intraocular lenses, an area in which he is widely regarded for his expertise.
Beyond the Shanghai meeting, ZEISS has invited Mr Hove to deliver educational sessions in several Chinese cities, including Hangzhou, Changsha and Inner Mongolia. These engagements underline the international demand for his insights into premium cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange, as well as his ability to translate advanced surgical concepts into practical clinical guidance.

The China programme forms part of a broader global ZEISS faculty itinerary in 2026. Mr Hove has also been confirmed as a speaker at the ZEISS EMEA User Meeting in Istanbul from 5 to 7 June, followed by an appearance at the Swiss Society of Ophthalmology Congress in Lausanne from 26 to 28 August. These upcoming engagements build on his recent educational contributions at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Congress in London, further reinforcing his standing within the international ophthalmology community.
In addition to his conference faculty roles, Mr Hove is contributing to ZEISS consulting and advisory initiatives. Following strong feedback from recent professional consulting sessions, further on-site educational and feedback-driven engagements are planned in Germany in 2026. These activities reflect his position as a surgeon-led key opinion leader whose professional authority is independent of hospital groups and grounded in clinical practice.
Ahead of his 2026 conference commitments, Mr Hove will also undertake charitable ophthalmic work in Rwanda from 2 to 6 March. During this period, he will perform sight-restoring surgeries as part of a humanitarian initiative aimed at improving access to high-quality eye care in underserved communities. Collectively, these engagements underscore a career marked by clinical excellence, international education, advisory leadership and a sustained commitment to global impact in ophthalmology.
