VSAVA, NEL Launch Vietnam's First Veterinary Cardiology Course

    • VSAVA and NEL Animal Medical Foundation launched Vietnam’s first 'Comprehensive Veterinary Cardiology Series', a seven-part training program, in Ho Chi Minh City.
    • The course provides hands-on echocardiography training and cardiac-focused veterinary education, with Korean experts sharing clinical expertise with Vietnamese veterinarians.
    • The initiative fosters long-term collaboration and knowledge exchange to advance veterinary medicine across Asia.

The VSAVA and NEL Animal Medical Foundation have made the first move in veterinary exchange between Vietnam and Korea. It marks the beginning of a collaborative journey towards advancement in veterinary medicine across Asia. Equally excited to share the expertise and experience of both countries through this cooperation with VSAVA, it is our desire that this special training, run like a school with 7 sessions, will be an opportunity for Korean and Vietnamese veterinarians to grow together.

The two organizations co-planned Vietnam's first 'Comprehensive Veterinary Cardiology Series', a seven-part course, and held its first session in Ho Chi Minh City from October 11th to 12th. Organized under the theme 'Join the cardiology gold rush during the golden hour with NEL', the course, during its seven sessions, focused on the 'Echocardiography Training Session'.

This training course had a systematic curriculum on cardiac-related internal medicine, diagnostic imaging such as echocardiography, and specialized practical training. Response from local veterinarians participating in the course was enthusiastic; it covered deep content, theory, and practice.

Many Korean cardiology experts, with considerable clinical experiences, including Director Son Seong-ji of NEL Animal Medical Foundation and Professor Yoon Hak-young of Jeonbuk National University, participated as lecturers for this session. Korean cardiologists actively shared their clinical experiences and know-how with Vietnamese colleagues, leading to several discussions.

This long-term educational project, possible only through close cooperation between the local Vietnamese company Saigon Ventures Inc. and Singapore's SV CROSSBORDER, which oversees veterinary education in Asia, is important for successfully opening a new venue for exchange where veterinarians of both countries can enhance their expertise together.

Director Deok-ho Lim of NEL Animal Medical Foundation said, "We are so glad to be able to share the expertise and experience of both countries through this collaboration with VSAVA. We hope that through this special training, run like a 7-session school, Korean and Vietnamese veterinarians can grow together, while advancing veterinary cardiology throughout Asia".
