Those who pass earn the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner–Board Certified credential, which confirms preparation to deliver psychiatric and mental-health care across the lifespan and supports the path to advanced-practice authorization in accordance with state requirements.
Ohio faces shortages of both nurses and mental-health practitioners at the same time demand for mental-health services continues to rise. Walsh University’s fully online program is designed to equip registered nurses with the advanced skills needed to address these workforce gaps in Ohio and beyond.
Kim Cleveland, Ph.D., J.D., dean of the College of Health Sciences, stated that the perfect pass rate demonstrates how graduates leave the program well prepared to enter the workforce and fill critically needed roles. She noted that the curriculum builds the experience and competencies required to provide mental and behavioral health care to individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan in varied settings.
