Longbridge and SIAS Partner to Boost Investor Education in AI Era

  • Longbridge Securities Singapore and the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 26 October 2026 to advance investor education and financial literacy amid the rise of AI-powered investing tools.

The agreement creates a framework for joint work on investor education, community engagement and practical learning. It pairs SIAS’s established focus on investor education and advocacy with Longbridge’s technology and platform strengths. The shared goal is to help retail investors make better-informed decisions in an environment where artificial intelligence increasingly shapes how people access market information and conduct research.

Both organisations noted that AI is changing the way investors gather data and analyse markets. They stressed that solid financial knowledge and the ability to assess information critically have become more important than ever. The collaboration aims to equip investors with a clearer understanding of market developments, practical research skills and greater confidence in using digital tools while remaining aware of those tools’ limitations.

Gavin Chia, Singapore and Regional CEO, Southeast Asia, at Longbridge Securities, said: “AI is opening up new possibilities for investors to explore information, understand markets and ask better questions. Financial education is essential to helping people make meaningful use of those possibilities. Through our collaboration with SIAS, we want to bring technology and learning closer together, giving investors opportunities to build their knowledge and practise using these tools. This MoU reflects our commitment to supporting a more informed and confident investing community in Singapore.”

The partnership will deliver learning opportunities in varied settings. These include market outlook sessions and hands-on workshops at Longbridge Café as well as community and heartland programmes. The activities are designed to link financial concepts with real-world experience so that investor education remains relevant for people with differing levels of market knowledge and digital confidence.

Ang Hao Yao, Vice President of SIAS, emphasised the need for education to keep pace with technological change. “Investor education must evolve as the tools available to investors change. Alongside financial fundamentals, investors need to know how to question information, assess its relevance and understand the limitations of AI-generated responses. Our collaboration with Longbridge aims to make this learning accessible and practical, reaching people with different levels of investing experience and digital confidence. We look forward to helping more investors develop the knowledge and judgment to make informed decisions.”

Longbridge Securities is an AI-powered online brokerage headquartered in Singapore. The firm builds global trading infrastructure and a trading network to deliver trading experiences to investors worldwide. Founded in March 2019, Longbridge holds 22 financial regulatory licences or qualifications across the United States, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore and other markets. It has raised more than US$150 million in strategic investment from leading financial institutions and investment firms. Long Bridge Securities Pte. Ltd. is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore under Capital Markets Services Licence No. CMS101211 and operates under an exempt financial adviser status.

SIAS actively promotes good corporate governance and transparency practices, investor rights and investor education. It serves as a watchdog for investors in Singapore and delivers a range of investor education programmes to its members and the wider investing community. These programmes are often run in partnership with financial institutions and listed companies that support investor education as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts. SIAS is managed by an elected Management Committee of volunteer professionals and is registered as a Charity and an Institution of Public Character.

The MoU focuses on combining market insights, practical workshops and community outreach. By bringing learning into everyday settings, the two organisations aim to make financial knowledge more accessible and to encourage thoughtful use of digital tools. The initiative recognises that investors today need both foundational understanding and the ability to evaluate AI-generated information critically.

Activities under the agreement will cater to a broad audience, from those new to investing to more experienced market participants who want to refine their research skills. Workshops and sessions will emphasise practical application so that participants can test concepts and tools in a supportive environment. Community and heartland programmes are intended to extend reach beyond traditional finance audiences and into neighbourhoods across Singapore.

The partnership underscores a shared view that technology alone is not enough. Investors must develop the judgment to interpret information, question sources and recognise the boundaries of automated analysis. By aligning SIAS’s educational expertise with Longbridge’s platform capabilities, the collaboration seeks to strengthen the overall investing community in Singapore.

Both parties described the MoU as a step toward a more informed and confident retail investor base. As AI continues to reshape access to market data and research, the focus on education and critical assessment is presented as essential for long-term investor wellbeing and market participation.

The agreement sets out a clear path for joint programmes that blend market insights with hands-on practice. Through market outlook sessions, café-based workshops and community outreach, Longbridge and SIAS plan to deliver consistent opportunities for investors to build knowledge and apply it thoughtfully in the AI era.
